Who we are
Re:Creation Media LLC (“Re:Creation”, “we”, “us”) is an independent media company organized in Delaware, USA. We are responsible for the information described in this policy.
What this policy covers
- This website, recreation.media.
- Re:Creation Social Desk, our internal tool that connects to Instagram through Meta’s official Instagram API (Meta app ID 1727666761657959).
This website
The site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics or advertising code, loads no third-party fonts or scripts, and has no forms. It is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may record visitors’ IP addresses in its server logs for security and to keep the service running, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. We do not receive or use those logs.
Re:Creation Social Desk: what it reads
Social Desk only works on Instagram accounts we are authorized to manage, including our founders’ accounts. It does not read anyone else’s account, feed or followers. On those accounts it reads:
- Comments on posts from those accounts: the comment text, the commenter’s username, the time, and the IDs Instagram attaches to them.
- Direct messages sent to those accounts: the message text and any attachment links, the sender’s username and Instagram-scoped ID, and the time.
- Counts about those accounts’ posts, such as the number of likes and comments.
It may also send replies from those accounts to people who commented or wrote to them.
How we use it
- To read and answer comments and messages.
- To keep track of conversations so nobody gets missed.
- To understand, in total, which posts people respond to.
We do not build profiles of individual people, and we do not use this information for advertising or sell it to anyone.
Where it is stored
Information from Social Desk is stored on computers and accounts controlled by our team. We use AI assistants, including Anthropic’s Claude, to help us sort messages and draft replies. Those providers process the content only to perform that work for us, under their own terms.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers that process it for us (for example, the AI assistant above), and
- when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep comments and messages only as long as we need them to answer people and run our accounts. When you ask us to delete your information, we delete your comments, messages and username from Social Desk’s records and our working notes within 30 days. Copies held in backups or by service providers are removed on their own schedules, and we never restore deleted data.
Your choices and data deletion
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Email hello@recreation.media with the subject “Data deletion request” and your Instagram username. Step-by-step instructions are on our Data deletion page.
Deleting a comment or message inside Instagram removes it from Instagram. To be sure our copy is also deleted, send us the request above.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe we hold information about a child, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
